Seminal vesicle

The seminal vesicles are a pair of glandular structures located behind the bladder and above the prostate. They secrete a viscous, fructose-rich fluid that makes up about 60-70% of total semen volume. This fluid provides a major energy source for sperm via fructose, contains prostaglandins (which may influence female reproductive tract motility), and coagulating proteins that help semen form a temporary gel after ejaculation.
