Why a Longevity & Aging Cell Atlas?
01
Problem
Aging is the single greatest risk factor for most chronic diseases, yet we lack a
comprehensive understanding of how individual cells change throughout life. The
Longevity & Aging Cell Atlas addresses this gap by creating
the most detailed single-cell map of aging ever assembled.
02
Approach
By profiling millions of cells across multiple
species—from short-lived mice to remarkably long-lived naked mole-rats—we can
identify both universal aging mechanisms and species-specific adaptations that
confer exceptional longevity.
03
Goal
Our ultimate goal is to provide the scientific community with an open,
comprehensive resource that accelerates aging research and enables the
discovery of interventions for healthy lifespan extension.
Our Values
OS
Open Science
All data, code, and tools are freely available to the global research community under open licenses.
CO
Collaboration
We unite researchers across disciplines—biology, computation, medicine—to tackle aging from every angle.
RG
Rigor
Every dataset undergoes stringent quality control with standardized protocols and reproducible pipelines.
